Theme: “Perspectives for Hydrocarbons in Africa: the Equilibrium between production and sustainable development”
The 5th African Petroleum Congress & Exhibition (CAPE V) will take place from 26 – 28 March 2013, in Libreville, Republic of Gabon. Sponsored by some of the biggest names in African Oil & Gas, including Total Gabon, Shell, Tullow Oil, Addax Petroleum, CAC International, CGG Veritas, Maurel & Prom Gabon, Mininstry of Mines, Industry and Energy, Equatorial Guinea, Perenco, PGS, Schlumberger, Sinopec Overseas Oil & Gas, SNPC, Vaalco Gabon and the Gabon Oil Company. CAPE V will feature a three day conference, which will be held parallel with an oil and gas industry trade event, the event will also feature technical and touristic tours. The 5th edition of this ever growing event is organised by the Association of African Petroleum Producers (APPA), the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Hydraulic Resources, Republic of Gabon and AME Trade Ltd.
CAPE is established as the largest and the most influential oil and gas event on the African continent. Previous editions have been organised by member countries in the following years: CAPE I (2003) in Tripoli, Libya, CAPE II (2005) in Alger, Algeria, CAPE III (2007) in Cotonou, Benin and CAPE IV (2010) in Democratic Republic of Congo. The previous edition of CAPE organised in 2010 in the Democratic Republic of Congo included 75 presentations, over 700 participants from 43 countries and 59 exhibiting companies.
CAPE V will include delegations of the highest rank, from the eighteen petroleum producing members of APPA namely: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Congo DRC, Cote D’Ivoire, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Libya, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan and Tchad. It will also include the representatives of international institutions, oil and gas exploration and service companies and all companies involved in Africa’ oil and gas industry.
CAPE V represents an ideal opportunity for both companies who are already established in the African petroleum sector as well as companies who are first time investors: to find out more about the Africa’s oil and gas political, regulatory, legal and fiscal environment through the all-encompassing conference program. It will also allow investors to meet the key political, economic and institutional decisions makers. The exhibition area will allow all participants to discover the latest technological advances in Gabon’s oil and gas industry. The CAPE V exhibition will also permit direct quality interaction with key decision makers to generate future business partnerships.
